Samsung is not expected to reveal the next-gen Note smartphone anytime soon. The company still has about two or three months to develop and test the Galaxy Note 9. We’re not in a hurry but we know that as early as August last year, we heard the phone would apply an under-display sensor, a new and improved S-Pen, Bixby 2.0, Android 8.1 Oreo, plus some 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 845 processor. We also heard the phone would be revealed earlier than scheduled due to low Galaxy S9 sales.
Interestingly, we learned last week the phone won’t be early as mentioned because of a small, last-minute change. Apparently, Samsung is thinking of having some parts design changed with the intention of making the phone thinner than ever.
Last week, we told you about the Galaxy Note 9 screen protectors sighted in the wild and even shared with you what we know so far. We can’t tell yet if Samsung’s move to pay Apple will affect consumers but we know that phone will be powered by Snapdragon 845 and 6GB RAM. Of course, we’re expecting the phone to run on Android 8.1 Oreo and eventually, Android P once ready.
The Note 9 was already noted to receive Chinese certification. Specs speculation officially started. Rumor has it S9 sales are low so there’s that idea of an early Note 9 rollout. The in-display fingerprint scanning technology is definitely still on the horizon even after we heard there’s a possibility it may not have such.
Samsung already filed the Galaxy Note 9 trademark. We can also expect the Bixby 2.0. The Note line is known for its compatibility with a Stylus and we’re looking to that enhanced S Pen. Of course, we’re definitely looking forward to that under-display optical fingerprint sensor.
The phone’s market release will be early September according to more recent reports. An Unpacked event will be held in August as per Bloomberg. Usually, a company releases an already announced product either at launch or two weeks later so an August launch may mean a September release. If Samsung launches first week of August, then the phone may also be ready the same month.
