HP Slate VoiceTab announced with 6 and 7-inch display options

We had been seeing the rumors and the leaks, but as of this morning HP has confirmed their re-entry into the smartphone space. HP has announced a pair of smartphones, dubbed the HP Slate VoiceTab, which will be available in a 6-inch and 7-inch variety. HP has offered up some details in terms of the specs, but for now it doesn't appear as if either of these handsets will be available in many markets.

HP Chromebook 11 LTE connectivity coming from Altair Semiconductor

The HP Chromebook 11 has been returning to an available status following the charger recall. The Chrome-running notebook has come available direct from HP as well as with Amazon and from the Google Play Store. The catch remains though, for now, the Chromebook 11 is only available with WiFi in terms of connectivity. HP had said an LTE model was in the works, but haven't offered much beyond that just yet.

Moto X UK availability announced for February

Motorola has announced availability for the Moto X in the UK. The handset will be available for purchase beginning on February 1st and those looking to make a purchase will need to shell out £380. That price is for the 16GB model. One catch with making a purchase will come in with the color. Motorola will have the black model Moto X widely available, however the white model will be exclusive to Phones4U.

Talon for Twitter and EvolveSMS arrive from Klinker Apps

Klinker Apps, the makers of the Sliding Messaging app have dropped two new additions in the Google Play Store this morning. One of the apps is for Twitter and the other for text messaging. The apps are called Talon for Twitter and EvolveSMS, with the former being $1.99 and the latter being free of charge. Both are sitting at version 1.0 and with support for devices running Android 4.0 or later.

T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z1S arrives for online sales

Originally announced last week during CES, the Sony Xperia Z1S has already arrived with T-Mobile. The carrier has the handset available for online sales beginning today. The handset is also coming to retail stores, however that will not happen until January 22nd. Regardless of whether you move forward and buy online now, or from a retail store on the 22nd -- the pricing and specs for the handset remain the same.

Hisense X1 hands-on with a tablet-sized smartphone

Smartphones seem to be growing in size, but there is a point where a device should be considered a phablet, or in the case with the recently unveiled Hisense X1 -- a tablet. Coming out of CES 2014, Hisense has unveiled the 6.8-inch X1 smartphone. Naturally, we were a bit curious about this oversized smartphone so we made sure to spend a bit of hands-on time checking it out.

ZTE BlueWatch hands-on

ZTE did a bit of pre-CES teasing so we knew some of what they were planning to unveil. They had a new smartphone, and phablet as well as their entry into the wearable space. The ZTE wearable is a smartwatch and it is called the BlueWatch. We made sure to head over to the ZTE booth to spend a few minutes playing and were greeted with somewhat of a clunky and Pebble-like design.

Toshiba Chromebook hands-on: 13.3-inches and a 9 hour battery

Toshiba entered the Chromebook market here at CES 2014 with a 13.3-inch notebook. This has them sitting in sort of a middle ground as many of the other Chromebooks are sporting an 11-inch display. Then we have the HP Chromebook 14. But while Toshiba has found the middle ground in terms of display size, the resolution will come in at a familiar 1366 x 768.
