Google Glass XE16.1 update arriving now [Update]

Kit Kat, the XE16 update, rolled out for Google Glass users back on April 15th. There was lots of promise and hope coming with the update. Google touted goodies such as increased battery life, however it also looks like plenty of users had issues as a result of updating. We are on the lookout for a changelog, but we did want to mention a new update is currently in the process of rolling out.

Amazon smartphone expected to make use of tilt gestures

Images of the still unannounced Amazon smartphone surfaced earlier in the month. Those pics detailed a setup that included a handful of front-facing cameras. But while we were able to see those from the pics, the actual style of the handset was disguised with an exterior casing/shell. Perhaps a bit more important were the details about how those cameras on the front would be used to "track the position of the user’s face and eyes in relation to the phone’s display."

Samsung Galaxy S5 water resistance demonstrated

The Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with an IP67 certification. That means the handset is protected against dust and water. Specifically, the 6 means a complete protection against dust and the 7 means the handset can handle being in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. We certainly aren't suggesting you put that to the test, however Samsung is showing this off in the latest Galaxy S5 promo video.

Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet US release set for May 4th

Sony announced the Xperia Z2 Tablet during Mobile World Congress. And while we knew the device would be rolling out on a global basis, Sony was quiet in terms of release date and pricing details for the US release. Well, flash forward till today and we now have confirmation on both -- the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet will be available in the US beginning on May 4th.
