Motorola Photon 4G Bootloader Unlock Available Now

Over the weekend some crafty developers unlocked the Motorola Photon 4G's bootloader. The pudding, as the developers of the method like to call it, comes courtesy of the same method used to free the Motorola Atrix not too long ago. We're still waiting on a long term solution from Motorola, but for now we'll take the unlocked bootloader however we can get it.

Google Videos App Now Works on Gingerbread and Froyo Devices

Google's Videos app was announced and released for the Motorola XOOM back at Google I/O in May, letting you rent and watch movies on the tablet, as well as on your computer. Watching it on your phone was promised, but the app wasn't available. Until today that is. Videos has been updated in the Market and is now available for many Froyo and Gingerbread devices.

T-Mobile to Switch 200 MB Plan Overage Punishment from Throttling to Fees

It looks like T-Mobile may soon take a page out of AT&T's book when it comes to data plans. A leaked image shows plans to move their 200 MB/month data plan off of throttling. Instead, T-Mo customers will start being charged overage fees should they exceed that 200 MB limit. For now, it only applies to the smaller plan, but is troubling news none the less.

Facebook Messenger App Contains Hints of Video Chat

Facebook's new Messenger app launched yesterday enabling you to set up group chats with your Facebook friends from a dedicated app. A little digging, has revealed several icons in the application which are for video calling. The discovery was made on an iPhone, but has been confirmed to be present in the Android version as well. Do we need another video chat app, or will Facebook's wide userbase help the late comer be the one we've been waiting for?

Logitech Offering Two New Bluetooth Android Tablet Keyboards

Logitech has two brand new bluetooth keyboards for your Android tablet on the way. The first tablet is simply a Bluetooth keyboard with accompanying stand which will work with any Android tablet with a Bluetooth radio built in. The second is a hybrid keyboard/case specifically for Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Facebook Announces Standalone Messenger App

Facebook has just announced that it will be releasing a new app, aptly named "Messenger." The app, clearly taking aim at Google's Huddles, aggregates texts and Facebook messages, letting you more easily reach your Facebook friends, as well as start group chats with them. The convenience comes at the cost of a separate app, Will it be worth it?

Motorola Atrix will be Graced with CyanogenMod Soon, Pre-Beta Ready for the Brave

Owners of the Motorola Atrix have been waiting for months now to get a port of CyanogenMod running on their fancy little Tegra 2's, and that day is almost here. A talented team of devs has successfully ported the beloved ROM onto America's first dual-core smartphone, and while it's still not ready for beta even, there is a "pre-beta" build available for the braver among you to flash and test out. The bacon is almost ready, and those of us who snuck a strip early can tell you, its going to be worth the wait.
