Expect more leaks, rumors, and rendered images to come out especially that it’s less than two weeks before Samsung is going to unveil the new Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus in a special tech event in New York City. New pictures of what’s believed to be a prototype unit of the Note 5 recently surfaced, giving us a closer look of the next-gen Note 5. Before these photos were sighted, a user agent profile of the device was also discovered, telling us that it will have a microSD card slot.
Not much specs and information to get from the new prototype photos but there seems to be a new feature found on the bottom of the phone. That’s believed to be the ejectable S pen that also appears to be metal. The phone housing looks metal too, at least on the bottom edge. The small notch you see on the image above could be easily removed by one’s fingernail to reveal the newly-designed stylus.
While the photos seem real and convincing, there’s another talk that the Galaxy Note 5 will NOT have that new ejectable mechanism. After all the rumors and images we’ve seen, now we’re hearing that Samsung will retain the manual slide stylus idea. The Galaxy Note series has always been known to come with a stylus and we’re thinking that maybe Samsung should at least update it.
Korean Tech website DDaily suggested that the next Note 5’s design will look a lot like the Galaxy S6. There’s going to be a glass back so an eject mechanism on the back would be impossible. But again with the glass back, we can’t also imagine a manual slide mechanism.
