The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS update for mobile devices is slowly rolling out. The latest Nexus phones got it first and then LG G4 was first to receive Android Marshmallow upgrade. Soon, more phone manufacturers announced their plans like Sony with the AOSP Marshmallow binaries and Xperias going straith to 6.0 from Android 5.0, Huawei, HTC, Motorola, and ASUS.
Over the weekend, some images popped up on Weibo, giving us an idea when Lenovo will be rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its mobile devices. The photos doesn’t look like an official announcement by the company but the event looks like a legit meeting of executives. The slide capture reveals the probable schedule of Android M rolling out to specific devices.
The phones getting the fluffy Marshmallow update soon are as follows:
• Lenovo K3 Note (March 2016)
• Lenovo Vibe X3 (March 2016)
• Lenovo Vibe P1 (March 2016)
• Lenovo K3 Note (April 2016)
• Lenovo A700 (April 2016)
• Lenovo P1 (May 2016)
• Lenovo S1 (May 2016)
• Lenovo X3 (July 2016)
• Lenovo A7000+ (July 2016)
So your K3 Note or Vibe X3 will be the first Lenovo device to get Android 6.0. The latest release might be on July next year. By then, more Lenovo phones are updated to Marshmallow. But then again, Android N might be introduced earlier that usual too. After the Marshmallow, the new N will be the hottest platform at that time. Let’s just wait and see for Lenovo to officially announce release dates.
