Samsung may be busy working on the foldable phone offering but it also has other major devices lined up. After the Galaxy S9 and S9+, there is still the Galaxy Note 9 to get excited about. The South Korean tech giant usually releases a new Note around August so this year is no different. We’ve got information the company is now testing the phone as per a recent listing on Geekbench. Apparently, a Note 9 was seen lounging on the benchmark site which means it’s being tested for release.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is known as model number SM-N960U coming after the SM-N950U which is the Galaxy Note 8. The document sighted lists a 6GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, and Android 8.1 Oreo. Single-core and multi-core scores are listed and they are close to the Galaxy S9 running the same Snapdragon 845 chipset.
We’re not assuming the numbers are final because Samsung can still make an adjustment to the specs and features. It’s still in pre-production so anything can happen. For one, the Exynos variant of the Galaxy Note 9 is said to arrive in 8GB RAM.
We’ve been saying it’s never too early to discuss the Galaxy Note 9. So far, we heard it will still apply an under-display sensor, will come with a new and improved S-Pen, and Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone may be released early due to low S9 sales and it has received Chinese certification this early.
