Samsung may be making sacrifices and doing a lot of changes ever since the Note 7 problem erupted but the company needs to work double time and extra if it it wants the next premium flagship phone to sell. The Galaxy S8 will be the first biggest launch after the Note 7 and we’re expecting the phone will hopefully, erase the bad impression. The device is also expected to be the only premium flagship to be released for the year as Samsung is said to be changing its marketing strategies.
We’ve been talking about the Galaxy S8 and noted already that it might use a battery from LG, have a dual camera setup and iris scanner, and offer other significant hardware changes. We also heard the idea that it will have a 4K display with VR capabilities and that it might use and ARM Mali-G71 GPU and Exynos 8895 processor.
No doubt, the possibly dual-booting Galaxy S8 will directly compete with some of the latest flagship phones from other OEMs like Mi Note 2. A recent post that appeared on Weibo has listed the specs of the new Xiaomi smartphone and the upcoming Galaxy S8. This early, the two are being compared side-by-side. Noted on the list are the specs of the Galaxy S8: a 5.5-inch 4K panel, Snapdragon 830 or Exynos 8895 processor, 6GB or 8GB RAM, NFC + MST for Samsung Pay, and a 80% screen-to-body ratio. Also noted is a February 26 launch which we’re assuming is before the Mobile World Congress.

Samsung themselves already leaked that there will be a Note 8 so I doubt the S8 will be”thee” flagship of the whole year.
