The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is coming soon all rugged and waterproof. After being tipped in a User Agent Profile and rumored to have a microSD card slot. So far, we know the more rugged sibling of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will be available first from AT&T. Looks like the phone is coming very soon as a certain Galaxy S6 Active (SM-G890A) just passed a Bluetooth certification.
Spotted on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group website is a smartphone with model number SM-G890A. This only means a smartphone is about to be released but we have no information when the S6 Active will be officially launched. We’re guessing before the month of April ends. No information on specs either so we’ll live with what we know so far.
To review, the Galaxy S6 Active will feature a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED+ screen, 3GB RAM, Exynos 7420 SoC processor, and a 32GB built-in storage–almost the same as the Galaxy S6 but battery life will be longer, thanks to a more powerful 3500mAh battery. And just like last year’s Samsung Galaxy S5 Active version, this one will comply with high industry standards so it can resist water and any other elements. And yes, this one is definitely expected to be tougher than the Galaxy S6 edge–you know, the subject of several stress tests we’ve seen in the past few days.
Let’s see if the Galaxy S6 Active will survive a bend test, a water test, and a brutal drop test.
