It’s final and official. Huawei is launching its very own foldable phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019) on February 24, 2019, Sunday, 2:00 PM (CET). The top Chinese OEM has shared the event poster for the “unprecedented” device. The company is inviting the public to explore “Connecting The Future” from the MWC. What excites us more is a first glimpse of the actual Huawei foldable device. The image shows the “folded” part which appears to be hinged. We’re expecting more related teasers will be made public before the official announcement.
As early as May last year, we knew Huawei wanted to beat Samsung to the punch. The Huawei foldable phone was planned and thought to be out before Samsung Galaxy X.
We’re anticipating the foldable screen phone category will see China-South Korea brands in a battle. Huawei wants to be No. 1 and is said to roll out a foldable phone this year ahead of Samsung.
Before 2018 ended, the Huawei 5G foldable phone was presented to Korean carriers. Huawei registered foldable-flexible names for a trademark.
A few weeks ago, Huawei was said to launch the first 5G foldable phone in the world. Image renders were made available for scrutiny last week and now this, the image teaser.
We’re looking forward to the next three weeks as more teasers and early details will be shared. Let’s wait and see.
