HTC’s revenue last month may be down by 40 percent but the Taiwanese company is hopeful that sales will recover easily especially after the recent launch of the M9 Plus and E9 Plus. Aside from all the hype, boasting, and marketing, HTC is busy updating several apps exclusive to HTC devices only.
We’ve featured a number of apps developed by HTC already: HTC Calendar, Print Studio, Scribble, Connect, BoomSound Connect, Tasks, Internet browser app, Cloudex, and the RE app. There are more from HTC Corporation and HTC Research but here’s a new one that would benefit those who are already running HTC Gallery, Music, and Video Player apps: the HTC DLNA Service.
DLNA, short for Digital Living Network Alliance Server, is an interoperability standard responsible for connecting devices like smartphones, tablets, TVs, laptops, or printers. HTC’s new app brings the DLNA service to the mentioned apps so you can share your multimedia files with other devices, connecting via DMR (Digital Media Renderer). Media files are then played via DMS (Digital Media Server).
Not much details and description have been give by HTC but DLNA compatibility is important. This means your HTC phone can now connect with other DLNA-enabled devices. Wireless connectivity is always appreciated–no need for cable if you want to display your photos or videos on a larger TV or display.
