Fossil has been very busy since it entered the smartwatch game late last year. The Fossil Group bought the Misfit wearable technology brand and soon launched the Android Wear-powered Q Founder which was soon listed on the Google Store. The leather version also quickly sold out. And earlier at the CES, Fossil unleashed a new smartwatch and more accessories. Last week, we also saw the Fossil Q Motion.
This week may be the busiest for the brand as it’s showing new analog watches and smartwatches in Switzerland at the 2016 Fossil Global Exposition. It’s like the CES of watches from famous brands all over the world.
The Fossil G line is slowly expanding as the company has just added new activity trackers, Android Wear smartwatches, and smarter analog watches. First in the list is the Fossil Q Motion showcased last week that boasts of a smart tap tech, water resistance, and sleep tracking. It’s a simple device that sends notifications of texts, calls, and activity that communicates through multi-color LED lights and haptic vibrations. The new smart tap technology allows you to do simple actions like take a selfie, play music, or find phone. It looks like a health/fitness band but it looks more fashionable with the interchangeable straps and cylinder design. Available this summer.
Fossil Q Wander is an Android Wear-powered smartwatch that comes with a touchscreen display and a stylish design with multi-finish case, artfully sculpted wire lugs, and a genuine leather strap that can be easily changed. Meanwhile, the Fossil Q Marshal looks more tough with a rugged case, navy blue plated case, and vintage-inspired leather straps that give a classic and timeless look. Both smartwatches also come with always-on displays, voice commands, and customizable watch faces. The watches will be available later this 2016.
Fossil is still producing analog watches but they can still be made smarter than before. Smarter analog watches are classic timepieces but with a digital component where notifications can be displayed. They are designed to also work as fitness trackers and even connect to smartphones running iOS or Android Wear. The Fossil Q Tailor and Q Nate are the first two Smart Analog watches from the brand.
No information about the prices has been given yet but expect these wearables to be available this year.
