We’ve only been waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active since we’ve mentioned numerous information about the smartphone already. The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge’s sibling is the rugged and waterproof version which we heard might have a microSD card slot. We know the unit will be offered by AT&T in the United States after a UA Profile was sighted.
A GSMArena tipster shared two photos of what is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. This is the first time we’re seeing the possible design and build which looks really rugged and tough in black and a hardcore looking design at the back. It looks just like a protective case was built-in into the back for extra protection.
The design is basically similar to the Galaxy S6 but the loudspeaker can now be found at the back of the phone. The heart rate monitor and camera are placed in their original position. There won’t be any fingerprint sensor just like the previous Galaxy S5 Active model.
This Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is believed to be the SM-G890A model. Instead of a 2,600mAh battery, this one will be equipped with a large 3,500mAh battery, assuring a longer battery life. Most specs will be similar to that of the Galaxy S6/S6 edge like the 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, 5MP front-facing camera, 6MP main camera, and a 14nm Exynos 7420 SoC.
