We’ve been seeing more and more leaked photos of the bezel-less OPPO R7. Obviously, these images are coming from China. Another set as been leaked proving once again that the next OPPO smartphone is gorgeous with its edge-to-edge goodness. We all know that OPPO is professional when it comes to doing stress tests on their mobile devices but with all the recent leaks, it seems the company isn’t good at keeping secrets unless that is their marketing technique.
We have no word when the phone will officially be unveiled but rumor has it that the OPPO R7 will launch in May 20 with another device–an OPPO R7 Plus. So that’s new information and it makes sense since most phone makers now are coming up with bigger, plus-sized versions of their newest models. Obviously, it will be bigger, probably a bit heavier, and will have a bigger battery.
The OPPO R7 will have “zero bezel” and will be very slim and thin under 5mm. Rumored specs include a 4.7-inch screen, a 2,000 mAh battery, 1080p pixel resolution, MediaTek64-bit MT6795 chipset, and a 20.7 megapixel rear camera. Phone will definitely be “borderless” based on the new images we’ve spotted and we’re guessing other phone manufacturers will follow this trend.
If you would look closely, the edge of the screen uses glass refraction to achieve that borderless design. The metal frame and the screen are very much close to each other. There’s also a bit of the curved edge effect. The bend is very small and not really noticeable but it reminds me of the Galaxy S6 edge, at least, on a very minor scale.
