Meizu has finally unveiled the new PRO 6. We’ve seen early images and it has been spotted on GFXBench already. The gold-white variant that surfaced earlier were followed up by an official teaser posted by Meizu’s CEO. Just a day before launch date, some more photos and benchmarks were leaked. Today’s announcement by the Chinese OEM confirms most of the things we know and that it looks a lot like the iPhone 6.
We’re not going to dwell on that because even if we don’t mention it, it’s very obvious. This Meizu PRO 6 is only one of the several phones the company plans to release this 2016. Meizu boasts of this new device as offering a high speed Internet. It’s powerful with a MediaTek 10-core processor and Meizu’s very own Flyme custom Android.
The smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display screen, 4GB RAM, 21MP rear camera with laser autofocus with Sony IMX230 sensor, and a 5MP selfie-shooter. The Sony sensor is the same one used on the BlackBerry PRIV, ZOPO Speed 8, Yutopia, and Lenovo Vibe X3 so you know the camera is really good.
The Meizu PRO 6 also features a 2-SIM dual card slot, mTouch fingerprint scanner, 4G/LTE connectivity, 32GB or 64GB onboard storage, and a 2560mAh battery. We’re not sure if there’s QuickCharge but Meizu said you only need one hour to fully charge the battery. Pricing starts at 2499RMB ($386) for the 32GB model while the 64GB will be 2799RMB ($432). No information on exact availability yet but the Meizu PRO 6 will be released first in its native China. Color options include gold, silver, and gray.
