We already told you that ASUS will be unveiling the ZenFone 2 this May 18. That wasn’t a rumor since a teaser of a smartphone was shown off. It was quite an interesting image because it seems an astronaut is holding ASUS’ latest flagship phone and taking a selfie while in space.
The flagship smartphone with mid-range specs has yet to arrive in the US and both ASUS and AT&T will be launching the ZenFone 2 still Intel-powered. We’ve received an invite to the official launch happening in Manhattan on May 18th. ASUS is proud to describe the ZenFone 2 as the ‘incredible coming to New York’ but we’re not sure if the specs are good enough to call the phone incredible. Then again it’s ASUS’ latest flagship and it’s supposed to rival the latest flagship from other brands like the HTC One M9, Samsung Galaxy S6, LG G4, and the Lenovo K80 as its closest competitor.
To review, here are the specs: 5.5-inch IPS LCD displayscreen, 13 megapixel camera, 5 megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, Gorilla Glass 3, 3000 mAh battery, and 1.8GHz Intel Atom Quad Core Z3560 processor. This particular model will still use an Intel chipset before ASUS starts using Snapdragon in future ZenFone devices. Phone is already available in some parts of the world (India, Malaysia,Taiwan, and Europe).
We’ll see how it goes at the ‘Incredible Comes to New York’. Who’s excited?
