Nokia 9 PureView

The Nokia 9’s arrival has been anticipated since early 2017. Almost two years later, here we are waiting for an official announcement after the countless press renders, rumors, and speculations. We believe the phone will come and we’re looking at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019) to be its launching pad. Now known as the Nokia 9 PureView, the phone will be popular for its penta-camera setup. That’s right: FIVE cameras. Not that the idea of multiple lenses is new but we’re surprised that Nokia is bold enough to enter a new category.

We know quad cameras are too much already so the five shooters are way over-the-top. But then again, this is Nokia we’re talking about. The former top phone maker is making a comeback by rolling out new and innovative phones.

Some people may say Nokia phones are pure novelty but they are real, working Android One smartphones with premium build and design without the high price tag. The image you see here perfectly describes what the Nokia 9 PureView will be all about–the main multiple cameras.

The press renders somehow confirm what we already know: five cameras with flash and autofocus in a circular formation, camera hole in front for the selfie camera, Nokia logo on the top right of the screen, in-display fingerprint sensor, Zeiss branding, Android On logo at the back, curved edges at the back for better grip, and a USB Type C port. We’ll get to see the five-camera Nokia 9 in Barcelona as HMD Global will make the official unveiling there.

Other specs we know: 5.99-inch display, 2k resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB onboard storage, possibly 3D ToF sensor, or 5X or 10x lossless zoom lens similar to Oppo’s.
