The Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are no longer sold on the Google Store but there’s still the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. We’re assuming when the Pixel 3 and 3 XL are almost near, the Pixel 2 phones may also disappear from the store especially when stocks are out. We know Google will not stock up further as it is already preparing for the next-gen phone offering. To be honest, now is a good time for Google as the Essential Phone is officially being canceled.
An IDC report said Google Pixel shipments doubled as Essential failed to sell the PH-1 for several reasons. Google has an edge this time as some more competition have been eliminated from the picture.
Aside from screen protectors for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, we also sighted transparent screen protectors for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Now we’re sure Google is sticking with the duo offering. The photos look legit and so we’re certain Google is still in the mobile phone business. We don’t know exactly how Google is doing but it’s not giving up–not just yet. From Nexus to Pixel, we believe the tech giant can offer something new and different because it knows Android better than other OEMs.
The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be two different sizes as always. Nothing much is going to change in the design except for a better selfie camera system.
Sighted on Weibo are images of screen protectors. They could be also be the glass panels meant for the two phones. The post has since been removed but we don’t doubt the possibility. Yes, we’re still taking it with a grain salt but at least we have a picture.
The Pixel 3 and the Google Pixel 3 XL devices are expected to be announced and released in the market before the end of the year. By then, we already know what is the next Android dessert. We’ve only been waiting for Android P to be revealed as well so we’re assuming the Pixel 3 phones running Android P will be the focus in Q4.
Google’s Pixel 3 phones are already in the works as shown in an AOSP. We’re guessing the Pixel Launcher search bar for Google Pixel 3 may be updated. We’re crossing our fingers Google somehow heard the feedback and complaints about the most common Pixel issues when its devs went to Reddit to crowdsource comments.
Based on the previously leaked information, the Pixel 3 could be revealed in October–perhaps on the 3rd of October since it’s the first Wednesday of the month. We can also expect an October 4 reveal since the past couple of years, Google made the announcements October 4 with a market release date of 16 days later which will be October 20.
The Pixel 3 and a Pixel 3 XL are safe names for now but you know Google, it has a tendency to change names and rebrand. When it comes to pricing, we’re guessing something between $550 and $850–nothing beyond $900. Storage capacities could begin at 64GB and then 128GB for the onboard memory.
