More Samsung smartphones are eligible to receive the latest software updates. Last year’s Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 from Verizon and T-Mobile can now taste the fluffy Android OS version. If you own any of these devices mentioned, expect to receive OTA notifications as the carriers will push them out in the next few days.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ from Verizon Wireless are ready to be Marshmallowed. After getting the Android 6.0 update, these devices can benefit from some of Verizon’s latest services like Advanced Calling and Wi-Fi Calling. These features allow subscribers to enjoy HD voice calls and video calls.
Verizon boasts of a high-definition mobile network so loyal customers can have super clear and uninterrupted conversations over the smartphone whether as regular calls or as videos calls over 3G or 4G/LTE connectivity. For those owners of the Galaxy Note 5 from Verizon, you will notice that the Wi-Fi has been improved. Some users have reported pages not loading but the update brings better connection quality even after the Android 6.0 update released earlier.
Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge from T-Mobile can now get the Marshmallow and take advantage of enhanced app permissions, faster Google Now on Tap, and longer battery life with Doze mode. If you own a not so old Galaxy S6 edge or S6, make sure you have at least 1.3GB free storage before getting the latest OS update.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates will be delivered straight to these phones via OTA. You can check manually if the latest build is ready by going to Settings> About device> Check for updates.
