OnePlus seems to be very busy these days. The company is preparing to launch a new smartphone rumored to be either the OnePlus Mini or a OnePlus X. We got more confused when an Amazon India page listed a Mini variant while an ‘X’ is being teased on Weibo.
There’s also the news that OnePlus is about to start local production in India. We thought that a new device will be launched last October 12 at the Next Big Step’ event but it turned out to be just a special sale. The OnePlus 2 was put up for sale without any invitation in a 1-hour window that day.
We have no idea how many units of OnePlus 2 were sold by the Chinese phone maker already but it’s going very aggressive now. Why, it’s trying to take on Samsung’s latest premium flagship smartphones. OnePlus wants owners of Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 Edge+, and the Note 5 to trade in their units for a brand new OnePlus 2.
At first, we though that’s very brave and ambitious of OnePlus to challenge a giant like Samsung but it’s Never Settle campaign is always aimed to take out the competition. Not to be confused with T-Mobile’s Never Settle campaign against Verizon, OnePlus is asking Samsung users to try OnePlus and see the difference.
According to OnePlus, the OnePlus 2 doesn’t offer any bloatware. The brand remains to be confident and very much willing to deliver high quality smartphones. What will OnePlus do to your not-so-old smartphones them? Donate them to Hope Phones. Your Samsung flagship Android phone won’t exactly go to waste because any contribution now would be forwarded to a less fortunate and remote area, allowing the people to gain access to a more professional, faster, and more efficient medical care.
