This week, we’ll finally get to see the two new Nexus phones and probably the new Chromecast. Of the two Nexus devices, we’re more excited to see the Huawei-made model because it’s the first from a Chinese phone maker. This is considered as one of the many ways that Google is doing to strengthen its brand in the country. We’ve heard numerous rumors already including those leaked photos of colorful units, the Huawei Nexus might be called the 6P, and the Nexus 6P could have a 128GB option.
Google will make the official launch on September 29, of the new Nexus duo and so much s’mores. The latter we’re assuming have something to do with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Before D-Day comes, we’re still expecting more rumors to be leaked. The latest we’ve got is that the Huawei Nexus 6P will have a big battery– a 3450mAh one. That’s bigger than most batteries in phablets leaked recently. That’s larger than want the iPhone 6S Plus, Galaxy Note 5, Motorola Nexus 6 have–2,750mAh, 3,000mAh, and 3,220mAh, respectively.
So far and based on leaked slides, here are the specs we know: 5.7-inch WQHD high-res screen, 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, Gorilla Glass 4 display, metal unibody, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (version 2.1), dual front speakers, USB Type-C charger, and of course, the huge 3450mAh battery. Despite the size of the battery, the Nexus 6P is expected to have an efficient battery-saving mode courtesy of the Doze feature in Android Marshmallow. We don’t have details yet on the special feature but rumor has it that battery life could be doubled.
The slides tell us that the Nexus 6P will have a sleek design, will be fast and powerful, will have a large, durable 5.7-inch screen, and is made for immersive media experiences. Phone will also feature fingerprint verification, simplified app permission, and App Standby mode. Phone will be available in Gold (Japan only), Frost, Graphite, and Aluminum with 32GB/64GB/128GB memory options.
As much as we’d like to take this with a grain of salt, the leaked images and PowerPoint slides seem legit. What do you think?
The biggest surprise (and best) to me is the camera hump doesn’t look all that, I guess, humpy…anyway…excited!
So I guess the wireless charging is out now?
Fyi for the editors…You guys said “tomorrow, Sept 29th” when this article was posted on sept 27th.
