Malaysia Maxis OnePlus

OnePlus has grown to be a thriving brand since its December 2013 launch. The company’s #NeverSettle campaign brought the mobile industry the OnePlus One and now we’re waiting for the launch of the OnePlus 2. OnePlus has faced several challenges especially in India where it went head-to-head with Cyanogen after the latter’s deal with Micromax which resulted to a sales ban which was soon lifted.

The Android smartphone is already available in Indonesia and all European Union countries. A year after the phone’s release, it’s only now that the model is made available for anyone even without an invitation. And for more good news, the OnePlus One has just been introduced in Malaysia after months of gearing up for its exclusive launch through Maxis.

Maxis is one of the top communications service provider in the country so it’s the ideal partner for OnePlus. It will be the first country where the phone is offered in stores and without any invitation. Maxis’ reach in the country is expected to give OnePlus more One sales.

The smartphone has been receiving positive reviews because of its nice design and high specs. OnePlus even describes the phone as the “Flagship Killer”. We have yet to get our hands on “One” but we’re excited to know if this not-so-new sales and marketing technique will do good for the company.

So OnePlus has gone offline first in Malaysia. The company believes Maxis is the right partner as OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei shared, “As we grow, it is increasingly important to work with the right partners who will provide the best experience for our users. Going offline is a first for us and we’re very happy to have found a solid partner in Maxis with whom we can take our first steps”.

The Maxis’ OnePlus One offer includes one year limited warranty and after sales services for the first month. Immediate support can be received at Maxis collection and walk-in centers across Malaysia. Phone is available starting today, April 22, at all Maxis outlets for only RM859 which is about $237. Off-contract and unlocked phones are also available for RM1199 ($332).
