It was a successful day for Google as it announced several new product offerings at a special event in San Francisco. Before the official launch, several images and information were leaked. The closest were those shared by Carphone Warehouse and Bell Canada. So far, the Pixel got the highest DxOMark score. As the new kids in town, the Pixel phones will be available from Verizon exclusively.
The mobile carrier has shared an unboxing video of the new Pixel and Pixel XL phones. For the video, a white 5.5-inch Pixel XL and a black 5-inch Pixel were shown off. Verizon describes the two as “Google’s first ever smartphones”. There’s no more Nexus reference. It’s a new beginning for Google in the smartphone game.
Verizon said that the Pixel and Pixel XL will have unlimited storage. Unlimited in the sense that files will be uploaded to the cloud. For example, photos will be uploaded to Google Photos with Verizon LTE.
The video doesn’t just show the unboxing of the phones. It also demonstrates how the Pixel can be used to take thousands of photos. Every single frame in the remaining part of the video was captured using the 12MP rear camera as Verizon wants to show how unlimited storage is.

The Pixel perfectly shows reliable Google services packed into one device. It’s the first to get the Google Assistant feature built-in. The smartphones are exclusive to Verizon in the United States only. Countries like Australia, Canada, India, and the United Kingdom will receive the phone later this month. They’re also now up for pre-order.
The Google Pixel’s pricing starts at $649 but you can get it with a 2-year contract with a $27 monthly fee.
