This week, we’re learning that the fingerprint sensor of both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge has a new feature. There’s the default security for accessing devices plus authorization for PayPal and the newly launched Samsung Pay payment system. The latest we discovered is a feature that allows accessing and logging on to websites by using the fingerprint sensor. No need to type in username and password on a certain secure website as long as you set it up and allow the device to access the website you regularly visit. Tap on fingerprint sensor to login. This feature will be enabled when you log into a site from your Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge. The phone will ask user if they want to use the fingerprint feature to remember and use credentials in the future. It’s up to the user if he will allow smartphone or not. This isn’t exactly a new feature because the iPhone already allows this with the iCloud Keychain but it’s only now that Samsung is making use of the fingerprint sensor for website login purposes.

I call bullshit! The Verizon version of the S6 does not have this feature. I returned my S6 edge for this very reason.
