We’re still waiting for the Meizu Pro 6 to be officially announced but we’ve already seen a number of early images including a legit set of photos from the OEM’s VP himself last week. Vice President Li Nan posted some images on Weibo to refute a claim that some leaked images were that of an iPhone 7. We know that it will be powered by a new Helio chipset and probably will have two variants with 6GB RAM/128GB storage or a 4GB RAM and 64GB model.
The Meizu Pro 6 was recently sighted on a GFXBench database complete with specifications. Somehow, this page is confirmation of the numerous rumors and information going around. According to the benchmark test website, the Meizu Pro 6 features a 4.6-inch screen, 1920x 1080 pixel resolution (Full HD), 10-core Helio MediaTek MT6797T chipset, ARM Mali-T880 GPU, 3GB or 4GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage, 20 megapixel rear camera, UHD video camera capable of 4K recording, and a 5MP front-facing cam. There’s still no mention of battery size.
Expect the Meizu Pro 6 to run Android 6.0 Lollipop out of the box. Rumor has it than an Exynos 8890 CPU model will also be released. Since the Exynos variants of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are receiving more positive reviews than the Snapdragon model, we can assume the Exynos-powered Meizu Pro 6 might also perform better.
We’re curious to know how the Meizu Pro 6 will be very much different from the Meizu Pro 5 unveiled only last November. AnTuTu named the Pro 5 as one of the best Android smartphones during the 3rd quarter of 2015. Let’s see if the Pro 6 will overtake the success of its predecessor.
