Last week, Amazon marked down the Nexus 9 price in time for Black Friday. It was sold from $399.99 down to $349.99. We have no idea how many units Amazon sold but we know many people who want the HTC-made Android tablet. The Keyboard Folio case for it already went up for sale on Google Play, listed at $129 for the basic black model.
The HTC Nexus 9 tablet was launched back in October together with the Android Lollipop, Nexus 6, and Player. A few days later, it showed up in Vietnam and then Google, Best Buy, HTC, and Amazon started taking pre-orders for the Nexus 9. Google Play also started offering the Android tablet with guaranteed shipping of 1 to 2 days. These companies were quick to offer the Nexus 9 but T-Mobile followed a month later. The carrier’s offer is $27.08 per month on a two-year contract. We said the 32GB Nexus 9 tablet would be available this December but looks like it would be delayed a bit.
The Google Nexus 9 launch being postponed isn’t the first disappointing news from T-Mobile this year. Why, the Motorola Nexus 6 was also delayed. It wasn’t exactly the network’s fault because it was the tablet manufacturer who failed to deliver the Nexus 9, causing T-Mobile to delay by one week its launch. But even if Nexus 6 went live for orders, T-Mobile has failed to deliver some orders of the 64GB variant.
And now this, launch of the Nexus 9 on T-Mobile is postponed. No reason was given by T-Mo but we’re expecting the HTC tablet will still be available from the carrier any other stores this Christmas. We have no idea what’s happening here but T-Mobile needs a lot of explaining to do.
