Adding to the growing body of leaks and rumors, a video of what is supposedly Sony‘s next Xperia wonder has just started making rounds over the Internet. This video shows off some of the new user interface features in the Sony D6503, also known as “Sirius”, also known as the Xperia Z2.
Sony doesn’t really have a track record of keeping its upcoming devices under wraps, despite going through great lengths to prevent leaks, including nondescript frames and company policies. Before it even goes public, we might already have a solid idea of what Sony’s next smartphone flagship would look like, and so far we’re interested in what we’re seeing and hearing.
The latest bit of information comes via a video of a real device, supposedly the Sony D6503. Highlighted in the video are some of the modifications that Sony has done to the Android 4.4 version running underneath. In particular, we’re seeing a new lock screen, complete with sparkling unlock animations and music player controls. We’re also being treated to a glimpse of the Xperia Themes feature that is already making its way to current devices now. And finally, we also get to see some of the numerous camera modes available to the device, which seems to be poised to outdo the Xperia Z1 in mobile photography.

Other than those special features, the Sony Xperia Z2 “Sirius” D6503 is expected to have pretty much the same hardware specs common to high-end smartphones these days. Of course, these are all just leaks and rumors, so always take everything with a pinch of salt. At least until we get an official look at the real deal, maybe at MWC 2014 even.
