Samsung is expanding its mobile payment service and will be supporting more banks and financial institutions. This is another good news for fans of Samsung Pay as this means more establishments and stores will be able to accept mobile payments. Just last week, the South Korean tech giant announced withdrawing money from ATMs via Samsung Pay is now allowed. That’s more than a week after the company partnered with POS providers and arrived in Singapore. About 39 new banks are being adding to the list–that’s also aside from the new financial partners it gained a couple of weeks ago.
Samsung has been busy launching the service in six more other countries apart from its native South Korea and the United States. Last March, it was finally launched in China and we were told it will be coming to the UK and Spain very soon. Other big names like Wells Fargo, Regions Bank and TD Bank have also been added to the list of supported banks and issuers.
As Samsung revs up its global expansion engines this 2016, expect more banks and partners will be supported. In the US, Samsung announced support for 39 more banks including the Los Angeles Federal, Chrome Credit Union, Vantage Credit Unionn, and Corning Credit Union.
To see the complete list, you may update the Samsung Pay app. The additional banks should be listed there already. With this news, we can expect more people to join the mobile payment bandwagon. Here’s a rundown of all banks and credit unions newly added to the list of supported partners:
