The smartwatch industry still remains but it has stopped growing. Samsung is still in the business of wearables although we know it’s not exactly a focus. The last related report we had was the Samsung Gear S3 and Gear Sport smartwatches getting a Value Pack update. That was after learning in December last year that Samsung has several tablets and smartwatches certified by EEC. We already mentioned the Galaxy Sport smartwatch and looks like the device will be available soon.
An image render has appeared online, showing is the circular dial plus the brushed metallic finish of a chrome-colored smartwatch. Wearables are advancing in many aspects but we don’t think it will be as popular as the smartphones.
On February 20, Wednesday, Samsung will be holding the Unpacked 2019 event. The South Korean tech giant is expected to unveil the 10th Anniversary flagship phone offering, the Galaxy S10 phones, and this Samsung Galaxy Sport.
There is no confirmation on the name as there’s also information about it being called the Samsung Galaxy Active. The image above is a recent render as shared by 91mobiles and it tells us a few things.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Sport is said to be the first sports-centric watch from the company. This means the fitness and health buffs will find the smartwatch more useful than ever with the special features and functions.
The watch with a round dial shows a pair of circular buttons that we think will be used for shortcuts. The chrome color and brush metallic finish make the device look expensive yet robust.
The Galaxy Watch Sport is said to include the following health-related features: GPS, heart rate monitor, activity tracker, sleep monitor, and step counter. We’re looking at a possible IP rating since it’s a Sports watch, it should be ready for rough use.
Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Sport smartwatch. It has reached the NCC in Taiwan and the FCC in the US. The product model SM-R500 aka Pulse is expected to be ready with NFC, WiFi, 4GB RAM, Bluetooth, and Bixby Reminders.
