Samsung has reportedly shipped more than 20 million Galaxy S 4 smartphones since it launched back on April 27th, however it looks like one of the more recently released variants is also doing well. That other handset is the Galaxy S 4 LTE-A. Samsung announced the Galaxy S 4 LTE-A back on June 26th and the handset came available for those in Korea.
Basically, that is just another way of saying the Galaxy S 4 LTE-A is still relatively new and only available in just one market. With that in mind, Samsung has now shipped more than 150,000 units. And on the flip side of the handset doing well in a short time comment, we should also clarify that the Galaxy S 4 LTE-A is currently the only device capable of delivering the speeds offered by SK Telekom.
Not to mention, it was said that the handset is also being heavily promoted by the carrier. But still, 150,000 in about two weeks time sounds like the handset is off to a good start. Looking forward and we see that Samsung may get some LTE-A handset competition in August. LG is expected to announce the G2 with LTE-A support on August 7th.
Similar to the Galaxy S 4 Active, the LG G2 should be arriving with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Earlier leaks offered a look at the LG G2 and along with those images came talk of specs. Aside from the processor, the G2 is expected to have a 5.5-inch Full HD display at 1920 x 1080 along with 2GB of RAM and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Of course, we already know the specs for the Galaxy S 4 LTE-A and those include a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display (at 441 ppi), 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 2600 mAh battery, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface.
