We first sighted the Samsung Galaxy J5 on GFXBench and the device soon found its way to TENAA–China’s FCC equivalent. When the first close up images of the mid-ranger phone were leaked, we knew that it would be unveiled very soon. True enough, the smartphone became official last June. This time, we’ve got news that the device is now ready in Europe under Orange.
Samsung Germany has just listed the Galaxy J5(model number SM-J500FN) on the website with a €234.99($261) price tag. The South Korean tech giant didn’t make any changes on this German version as the specs are still the same: 5-inch Super AMOLED screen, 720 x 1280 resolution, 294ppi pixel density, 1.2GHz quad-cored 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage, microSD card slot, 13MP rear camera, f/1.9 aperture, 5MP front-facing cam with LED flash for clearer selfies, and a 2600mAh battery.
You can’t compare this with the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge and even the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 because unlike those premium phones that use metal or glass back material, the Galaxy J5 (SM-J500F) only uses plastic. This may be a mid-ranger but smartphone already supports 4G LTE connectivity and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
You can now purchase the Samsung Galaxy J5 from Orange.
