The third version of the Samsung Galaxy A7 is now being prepped. That is, if we are to believe the early benchmark reports showing up on GFXBench and just recently AnTuTu. The phone is listed with model number SM-A720F, 5.5- or 5.7-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution, some Exynos 7870 SoC, octa-core CPU, Mali-T830 GPU, 3GB RAM, and 64GB of onboard storage.

Out of the box, the new Galaxy A7 might run Android 6.0.1. When it comes to imaging, the 16MP rear and 16MP front-facing cameras are impressive. There’s even no mention of battery size but we’re assuming it won’t go below 3500mAh battery.

As with with other Samsung phones, it’s said to have a Clear View cover so you can view notifications and messages on the small flap and opening on the phone case. We’re also assuming it will have a fingerprint sensor as with the current model.

As usual, we’ve got no word on pricing and availability yet but it could be announced sometime in December of January in time for the holidays or next year’s CES event. The Galaxy A7 is more of a mid-range to premium phone which can be a Note 7 alternative. It’s not as high-specced as the discontinued Note but we just know it doesn’t explode.
