Samsung isn’t only busy investigating the Note 7 battery. The South Korean tech giant has been working on introducing new products and services and updating softwares and firmwares. When it comes to Android 7.0 Nougat, we know it’s ready for the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge. It’s also now being prepped for the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge, and Note 5 as the Galaxy Beta Program has already rolled out.
We had no idea if and when the Galaxy A will receive the chunky Nougat until today. We heard Android 7.0 will roll out for the mid-range line next year around the second quarter. The budget to mid-range series include the following models: Galaxy A9 Pro, Galaxy A9, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A3. Some of these models will have their 2017 versions and they’re expected to run the Nougat version either after a major update or out of the box.
Samsung is working on different Nougat versions for each device. There’s a possibility that not all features will be supported on a particular device. For some models, user interface may even be different. It’s up to Samsung which features will be included or if a particular item can’t be supported.
The Galaxy A (2016) series has been confirmed already to get the Android 7.0 Nougat soon so expect to receive and OTA if you own this model.
