We’re anticipating for the launch of OnePlus 3 and just like last year, OnePlus will be unveiling the new smartphone with a VR launch. That OEM has even started to distribute free headsets. We just know it’s coming but as to when exactly, OnePlus is mum about that. That is, until a live chat rep spilled the beans when asked about the launch. It’s no secret now: the OnePlus 3 launch will be on June 14.

There’s still no formal announcement but the information was given on the OnePlus website. The rep could have forgotten to keep it hush-hush but then again, there’s really no need to make the public wait.

OnePlus 3 launch June 14

We’ve seen and heard a lot about this OnePlus 3. For one, it will have a USB Type C-port and prototype images were leaked a couple of weeks ago. It might also feature the Dash Charge solution and might come in two variants–one with 4GB RAM and another with 6GB RAM.

OnePlus already sent out 30,000 pairs of VR headsets for the launch. It will be a “global” launch because people all over the world can watch the launch in virtual reality using a Loop VR headset. This time, OnePlus distributed Loop VR instead of Google Cardboard. OnePlus partnered with AntVR to produce the free headsets. Each viewer will work with any smartphone equipped with 5- to 6-inch screens.

Here are the specs of the OnePlus 3 we know so far: 5.5-inch display, 1080 x 1920 resolution, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM or 6GB RAM, 32GB or 64GB native storage, 16MP camera, NFC support, and a 3500mAh battery. If you “watch” the launch, you will be able to pre-order for the new phone virtually right away. The VR launch isn’t limited to the lucky 30,000 who signed up for the Loop VR. As long as you have a VR headset, you can join the VR launch.
