Verizon is on a roll. Actually, even Motorola is busy rolling out software updates for numerous Moto products. Just the other day, Verizon released the Marshmallow update for the LG G Pad X8.3 after pushing updates for the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, and Droid Turbo 2. And just over the weekend, Verizon released the highly anticipated SOFTware update for the Motorola DROID MAXX 2.

After a series of beta testing, the update brings the latest security patches, performance optimizations, and fixed issues. Before getting the update, make sure you are connected to a Verizon network or your WiFi network and that battery is fully charged. Note that the software version will be 23.44.3.lux_verizon.verizon.en.US (SU1A) or 24.64.4.lux_verizon.verizon.en.US (SU2B).

As with other Marshmallow updates, this one features Now on Tap with Google Now contextual results, Doze Mode, App Standby, enhanced App Permission, App Links, Expandable Storage, and Direct Share. Of course, there’s also improvements on Moto Assist, Moto Display, and Ambient Display. The Moto Assist from this Motorola device includes different settings for different times: ‘Do not disturb’ when you’re sleeping or are in a meeting and ‘Driving and Places’ for when you are driving or on the way to a specific destination. Unfortunately, Moto stopped support for the “Keep Quiet” and “Play music” options.
