We’re moving fast into the 2nd quarter of the year so expect more software updates to roll out. That and the fact that the Google I/O Conference is happening soon. Tech companies and OEMs are scrambling fast to release firmware and software updates before the next premium phone or Marshmallow For this season, Android Marshmallow is THE update to anticipate. We’ve been reporting news of Android 6.0 or 6.0.1 being pushed to smartphones and tablets the past few days and this time, it’s the LG G Pad X8.3’s turn.

The one-year old Verizon model, an obvious follow-up to the LG G Pad 8.3, comes equipped with a Snapdragon 615 chipset, 8.3-inch screen, 8MP camera, dual stereo speakers, 2MP camera, 2-front-facing camera, microSD card slot, 16GB built-in storage, and a 4800 mAh battery. This tablet with Full HD IPS display is now eligible for the Marshmallow update.

Verizon’s Marshmallow update will roll out over-the-air (OTA) anytime soon. Your device will soon run on the VK81522A software version that includes a number of new features and improvements. This update will bring Runtime app permissions, Now on Tap, Doze Mode, Do not disturb or silent mode, screenshot deleting, control over alert notifications, and Direct Share among others.

Verizon Wireless brings the newest security patches, bug fixes, and optimized performance for the LG G Pad X8.3. You can check yourself if the update is ready by going to Settings> About device> Software update. You need to be connected to the Internet or mobile network for download and installation to be successful.

  1. I updated my LG G PAD 8.3 to Android 6.0 and it is lagging terribly. I cannot get it to stop. I don’t not recommend doing the update on this device
