LG originally announced the Optimus G Pro back in February and the handset quickly launched in Korea. The Optimus G Pro topped 500,000 shipments in the first 40 days of availability and then later came available for those in Japan. That launch was then followed by a US launch when the handset came available with AT&T.

Basically, despite the fact that the Optimus G Pro has been available for several months now, the availability has been somewhat limited. That however will soon be changing. LG has announced a global expansion that is set to begin during the third quarter of the year. According to details coming from LG, the handset will be expanding to Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States).

Looking at the total, LG has said the Optimus G Pro will be arriving in about 40 additional countries once the expansion begins. Further details have this launch beginning in Italy. While the Optimus G Pro may not be the newest device on the market at this point, it still has a more than respectable set of specs.

The handset has a 5.5-inch 1080p display along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera. Those in the US should also be aware that AT&T recently began rolling out the Value Pack update which added new features such as Smart Video and Dual Recording.

Finally, as the LG Optimus G Pro has been available we have spent some time with the device and have an unboxing and hands-on as well as a full review of the AT&T branded model.
