The Android Marshmallow software update has been available for a number of mobile devices already. While others are still waiting for their updates to be pushed, the lucky ones are almost ready to get a new version. The Android 6.0.1 has already rolled out to some and obviously, it comes with some bug fixes and new features including the new emojis plus a new camera feature security update.
The tech giant Google seems to be busy working on new notifications or it could be doing an experiment. Why, the ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature seems to have been removed from Android 6.0.1 according to some users who already received the update previously. This comes as a surprise since it’s one of the major features of the new Marshmallow platform. We only know about the issue that some Android 6.0 phones can’t keep up with time but I guess that is somehow related and also probably because of the new Doze features.
The Android developers didn’t make any formal announcement about this change but if you happen to get the earlier version of Android 6.0 and was already able to update to 6.01, you might notice the missing feature. If you may remember this ‘Do not disturb until next alarm’ feature was added during the Android 5.1 version. Apparently, there have been some errors encountered.
Google could still be working on a more permanent fix but before more phones are affected, the devs just decided to remove it. Let’s wait and see if this particular feature will return on either Android 6.0.2 or 6.1.1 or whatever the developers want to name the next platform version.

Odd: It’s still on my Nexus 6P. And I have the 6.01 update.
I’m on 6.0.1 and I still have a ‘do not disturb’ feature.
This headline and article are very misleading. What seems to have been removed is specifically the “…until next alarm” feature of DND, not the entire DND feature. Bad reporting overall.
running 6.0.1 and i use “do not disturbed all the time. so what 6.0.1 is the author talking about?
What the author wrote: ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature deleted from Android 6.0.1
What actually happened: ‘Until Next Alarm’ feature went missing from the ‘Do Not DIsturb’ menu
I know it’s the holiday season and everything but at least read your source properly before you start writing complete nonsense.
Know your job author, Android Community is one of the top tech site. Posting misleading info with nonsense headline may produce temporary hit increase but it’s bad for the reputation you guys earned from us.
Why, does this author keep using sentences starting with “Why, … ” making no sense
Why?
Bad. This article is wrong. I am on Android 6.0.1. The “Do Not Disturb” feature was not removed. It’s still on my Nexus phone. Interestingly, some of the posts on the comments say that it appears that it was just the “…Until Next Alarm” feature that was removed but not the overall “Do Not Disturb” feature. When I look at my phone, I think that maybe the features were just adjusted. I see that the “Do Not Disturb” options that I have now are “Total silence”, “Alarms only”, “Priority only”. And within each of those options, I can choose “Until you turn this off” or “For x hours”.
