Casio announced last year that it would be joining the smartwatch game. Officially showcased at the CES 2016 back in January, the Casio Smartwatch Outdoor Watch will be available for purchase beginning this March 25, Friday. Also known as the Casio WSD-F10, this Android Wear-powered smartwatch is ready for rough use and all your outdoor adventures whether you’re into trekking, cycling, or fishing.

The smartwatch is rugged and durable, passing strict military standard specifications. It’s perfect for everyday use as a regular wristwatch and as a techie smartwatch that can be integrated with your smartphone. The wearable device offers up to 50 meters of water resistance so maybe you can use it as an alternative to your diver’s watch.

Design-wise, the Casio WsD-F10 features the familiar rugged type watches by Casio. It boasts of some large buttons and a soft urethane wristband. The band is easy on the skin as it conforms to the wrist, allowing a comfortable grip and wear. Also noticeable is the slip-free finish of the watch.

The new Casio Android Wear device is ideal for outdoor use as you can check a number of important data like altitude, direction, atmospheric pressure, tide graphs, activity graphs, and sunrise/sunset times aside from the usual weather app. It runs Android Wear so that means you can use compatible apps available on the Google Play Store. There’s also the standard weather, maps, voice search, email alert, and notifications.

Casio Smart Outdoor Watch (Casio WSD-F10) can be purchased for $500 from the Google Store, Amazon, REI, and ShopCasio. Colors available are orange, black, green, and red.
