Android 5.0 Lollipop on Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE

Rumors and leaked previews will soon be overshadowed as the Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A has rolled out. We’ve lost count of how many Android devices are getting the sweet Lollipop update but Galaxy S4 users, specifically of the LTE-A variant, will be happy to know that the software update is ready. It was only last week that the Samsung Galaxy S4 got a taste of Lollipop in Russia. This isn’t exactly unexpected because we’ve seen the Lollipop firmware for the unit leaked and the Google Play Edition received Android Lollipop back in December. Samsung officially revealed the Lollipop update for the Galaxy S4 and Note 2 at the same time.

Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A (GT-I9506) has been available in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Rolling out is actually the Android 5.0.1 update already. The official OTA notification should be arriving soon or you can upgrade your phone using Kies. Of course, those who understand the advanced coding can simply download the firmware and install on their own.

Sam Mobile has provided a list of countries getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S4 LTE-A and so far, only three countries are getting the firmware. Other countries like Australia, Austria, Croatia, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom have yet to receive the official Android Lollipop update but it should arrive soon.

    • Once your phone is rooted, u will no longer receive the OTA notification. U might have to update the firmware from a different way.
