All you Droid 2 owners around that have been patiently waiting for the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update might be sad to hear this but you might be waiting just a little longer. A leaked document floating around states that the Droid 2 Global wont get Gingerbread til after the Droid 3 launches. It is safe to say the regular Droid 2 is probably in the same boat but we could be wrong.
The Droid 2 has a few good things going for those that can’t wait, recently Android 2.3.3 was leaked for the D2 and you can read about that here. And if you dare to get a little crazy CyanogenMod 7 now supports the Droid 2 also.
The options above are only for the bold that want to get a little crazy and flash 2.3 early, otherwise the wait shouldn’t be much longer as the Droid 3 should be launching soon. Back at the end of May Motorola called the update to Gingerbread “Imminent” so that is a good sign. Stay tuned for more information as this shouldn’t be far off.

Will the Droid 2 Gingerbread be 2.3.4? The Monster leak I’ve been using since April has a serious wifi bug that causes it to disconnect if the signal drops below -88dBm.
If you’re experiencing issues with your keyboard, I have a solution.
Settings > Language & keyboards > Multi-touch keyboard.
Then:
– Disable ‘vibrate on keypress.’
– Disable ‘next word prediction.’
– Clear learned words.
