You know how it is in the mobile industry, it’s never too early for rumors, leaks, and speculations. Next-generation phones are usually leaked to the public months before but for bigger OEMs and the more popular line like the Samsung Galaxy S or the Huawei P– a whole year before the actual launch. As for the Huawei Mate series, this one gets an early peak as the Mate 30 Pro phone case surfaced online. The top Chinese OEM releases the new Mate models at the last quarter of each year so the information here is very early.
Before the Huawei Mate 30, there is still the Huawei P30. The latter will be announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019) in Barcelona and is expected to have four rear cameras. The Pro variant was already compared with the P20 Pro. We’ve also seen those protective phone cases revealed on Mobile Fun.
As for the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, it will be the premium flagship model from the company due in the second half of the year. A patent has recently revealed some information about the camera setup.
We said 2019 will be about multiple camera lenses. The Huawei P30 will have a quad-camera system while the Mate 30 or Mate 30 Pro may have a penta-camera setup. This is according to a patent filed by Huawei at the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).
It is not really for a new device but for a phone case with a penta-camera cut-out. The rectangular shape is bigger than previous models. It appears the smartphone case is big to accommodate more cameras.
To be honest, details are scarce but the cutout is larger than last year’s. We’re assuming Huawei will be using more camera lenses for whatever smartphone this protective case is.
