The next lucky phone to receive a serving of the Pie is the Nokia 5.1 Plus. The phone is actually the same as the Nokia X5 in China. The other name is just meant for the global market. The phone was announced first in China back in July. It’s now available in other parts of the world as HMD Global has been trying to reach more markets. The phone was a subject of a number of rumors, leaks, and speculations and we were excited when Nokia made the official announcement.
The latest related update we had was about the Nokia phones’ hide notch option being deleted. We know it’s back again for some Nokia smartphone models.
As for the Nokia 5.1 Plus aka Nokia X5, this phone finally ready to receive the latest Android platform version. From Android Oreo out of the box, you can now download and install Android Pie.
According to HMD Global exec Juho Sarvikas, they started the Android 9 rollout for the Nokia 5 Plus. we have no information what key markets will get them first but we know the update will add the Pro Camera feature for the Nokia 5.1 Plus, as well as, the Nokia 6.1 Plus. He added the hide notch setting is back.
