A new Honor phone was recently spotted on TENAA and Geekbench and it is said to be the Honor 7X. This is a follow-up to last year’s Honor 7. Don’t be confused why an Honor 7X is launched when there’s already the Honor 8 and Honor 8 Pro. There’s also the Honor 9 series. We’re just assuming the top Chinese OEM wants to offer more options for the mobile consumers especially in its native country.
The Honor 7X is expected to roll out internationally in January 2018. We’re looking at the International CES to be its launching pad or just after. There is a possibility that it will be introduced with a different name. As per a listing on TENAA, this phone will have a 5.9-inch TFT screen, 2160 × 1080 pixel resolution, 2:1 aspect ratio, an 8MP selfie camera, 16MP and 2MP dual camera setup, 4GB RAM, 64GB onboard storage, octa-core Kirin 659 processor, and a 3240mAH battery. We’re assuming this will follow the Huawei Maimang 6 (Huawei Mate 10 Lite) more in terms of design, specs, and features.
The specs listed appear to be slightly high so it could be mid-range. It may not be exactly low-cost but still affordable for such decent specs. The Honor 7X will only run Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box.
