We don’t know why it’s taking Sony so long to roll out the official Android Marshmallow update for most of its phones but Concept for Android Marshmallow has been ready since October last year. The same concept software was released for Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact owners. A step-by-step guide on how to install Sony’s Concept Software was also shared.
A beta Marshmallow for Xperia Z3 and Z2 smartphones were released last month while the Android Marshmallow Wi-Fi certified version for Xperia Z4 and Z5 in Japan were released as early as December. Sony Mobile has just rolled out a minor update to the firmware, again for the Concept for Android Marshmallow.
This new firmware version may be small but the update brings an important fix to the video recording feature when “Ok Google” is turned on plus the March Android security patch level by Google, and the latest Wi-Fi firmware.
Sony Mobile also added a new app known as ‘InTouch’. This app is to replace the Beta feedback app, so testers like you can communicate more quickly and easily with the devs for direct feedback.
This new Concept Marshmallow firmware bumps up build number to MMB29V.Z1.3561. We have a feeling that more Sony Xperia devices will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS upgrade anytime soon. Let’s wait and see.

I do hope youre right about it being released “anytime soon”. It’s great that Sony are updating some of their older (let’s face it, the Z2 is only 2 years old) phones, but they don’t half make you wait.
