We’re nearing the much-awaited and much-hyped unveiling of the OnePlus 2, the second phone by China-based outfit OnePlus, and we’re seeing a lot of leaks and information about the phone through official and unofficial channels. One of them is this rumored benchmark of the OnePlus 2, hitting over 60k points on the AnTuTu benchmarking app.
To be really fair, this isn’t the first time an alleged OnePlus 2 AnTuTu benchmark has leaked, although the first few leaks were in the 51k to 53k point mark. The earlier benchmark claims would probably be a source of deflation for excited OnePlus 2 fans out there, because those numbers could easily be reached by a device sporting a Snapdragon 801 processor. The OnePlus 2, with its second version Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM should beat those numbers handily.
This new leak shows a device coded as ONE A2001, the known device alias of the OnePlus 2. It reaches an apex of 63719 points, beating the numbers of the HTC One M9, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, the LG G Flex 2 and others which have the same SD810 processor.
What could account for the gap in performance from the last benchmarks? If both benchmarks are true – which they could well possibly not be – then it might come down to OnePlus‘s newer firmware, drivers, or basically using a newer prototype. Whatever the reasons are, we won’t have to wait long until July 27 to see the real deal.
