The Google Carrier Project leaked last month turned out to be true. Project Fi was finally revealed and although it’s an invite-only project, the app was soon launched on the Play Store. Official invites were sent out earlier this May and while we have yet to experience Project Fi, a Google rep shared a bit about the Project Fi on Reddit.
Those who requested for an invitation recently received a quick email update from Google. The Project Fi team expressed excitement over the people’s interest. According to Google, some of the first customers have been sending positive feedback. The tech giant is in the process of sending the invites as fast as they can while providing high-quality wireless experience to the current subscribers.
Google received numerous requests and the company said it might take Project Fi team until mid-summer to send all the invites and get everyone on board. Google also said that a new tool will be released to help people check their invitation status.
The Project Fi team assures those who expressed their interest and requested for invites that they will be sending them as soon as possible. We have no idea how many people actually demanded for for their invitation but we’re guessing it reached thousands in the US.
