From being leaked to finally being announced at the Mobile World Congress last March to the Dual variant launching in India, the new midrange phone from Sony is now available in the US via Amazon. This US launch is almost simultaneous with the Canada release we reported last week.

Listed on Amazon is the black, factory unlocked SONY XPERIA M4 AQUA (model E2303), it’s the same IP68-rated and 4G/LTE-capable Xperia M4 we’ve been featuring. Amazon has listed the Android smartphone with a $349 price tag, already with free shipping. Note that this is only the 8GB model which could be a bit of a problem because we already discovered that the 8GB internal storage is really not enough.

Like we reported earlier, the 8GB might not be enough because the Lollipop OS alone takes up about half of the phone memory while there are almost 2GB worth of pre-installed apps. That leaves the phone only less than 2GB of free space. The specs are really good except for the built-in storage. There’s the 16GB model but we’re not sure if Amazon has it in stock right now.

To review, the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua comes equipped with a 5.2-inch 720p resolution screen, 5MP front-facing camera, 13MP main camera with Exmor sensors, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 8GB internal memory, microSD card slot, 2GB RAM, a 2400 mAh battery. Out of the box, the phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop already.
