Xiaomi Redmi Note 2

The Android One may not make it big in India but the Redmi Note has great potential. This new smartphone from China will soon arrive in the country complete with kick-ass specs: 8-Core MTK 6592 or Snapdragon 400, 1.7GHz CPU or Quad-core 1.6GHz CPU for the 4G version, 2GB RAM, and a vast 5.5-inch HD IPS display screen.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note is arriving in India next week, ready to take on the other smartphones already in the emerging market. Android phone also comes with a Dual-SIM slot–WCDMA for 3G and GSM for 2G. The display screen is stunning at 5.5-inch and HD IPS making it good and big enough for watching videos, web surfing, and endless gaming.

Redmi Note is powered by a 3100 mAh Lithium-Ion Polymer battery that can make the phone last up to 38 hours on 2G internet use and 14 hours on 3G. The numbers are equivalent to up 775 hours/one month of standby time and 60 hours of music playback. Impressive.

This Android smartphone comes pre-loaded with Fleksy keyboard. You know that paid keyboard app that was recently used to beat a Guiness World Record. App is pre-installed on all Xiaomi Redmi Note phones that will be sold in India. That’s right, free of charge as soon as device is activated.

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note phone will be available in two models: the basic 3G model and the other one, a 4G/LTE-enabled phone. The Redmi Note will be available for Rs. 8,999 which is about $145 while the Redmi Note 4G will be listed at $1,999 or $160 in the US.
