The world isn’t really familiar with Wileyfox but this London-based startup wants to be known within the Android community more. We’ve known about it since last year and after launching the Wileyfox Storm and the Wileyfox Swift, we have an idea how this European brand wants to make it big in the CyanogenMod and Cyanogen OS game.
The two Wileyfox phones are finally getting a follow-up in the form of the Wileyfox Spark. This new handset boasts of an impressive and slim design with quality components, reliable security, and speedy performance. Phone is affordable at only £89.99/€119.99 ($133) but specs are not compromised. It runs the latest Cyanogen 13.0 OS based Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
You can choose from either the White or Sandstone Black version of the Wileyfox Spark and choose from either the Sensational Black or Brilliant Red protective case. It’s very sleek and thin at only 8.65mm and lightweight at 135g. Phone is unlocked so you can choose your mobile carriers as it also offers Dual SIM support. When it comes to imaging, there’s the 8MP front and rear cameras that also take advantage of panorama, face detection, slow motion video, and live filters among others.
The Wileyfox Spark is powered by a 1.3GHz Mediatek MT6735 Quad Core processor. Other specs include a 5-inch IPS screen, 1280 x 720p resolution, Dragontrail glass, 8GB onboard storage, 2GB RAM, and a 2200mAh removable battery. A 16GB model with 2GB RAM and 13MP main cam is also available for £114.99/€149.99 ($166). It’s called the Wileyfox Spark + while another variant, the Wileyfox Spark X comes with a bigger 5.5-inch screen and 3000mAh battery for £129.99/€169.99 ($188)–still affordable.
You can pre-order for the Wileyfox Spark and its other variants from Wileyfox.com, Amazon, and other retailers. Live orders and shipping will begin on July 12.
